Bay Trail – Carquinez scenic drive
Join us for a 3.75 mile walk (out and back) along a paved, gentle up-and-down trail overlooking the Carquinez straits. Meet at the Nejedly Staging Area just outside downtown Martinez at 9 AM. Allow 35-40 minutes travel time from Clayton. Bathroom at upper parking lot where we will caravan to start of hike, about 2 miles further up the road. Scenic views and wide closed- to-traffic road for safe social distancing. Bring your mask, water, hat and a light jacket for early morning breezes. To get to Nejedly Staging Area: Hwy 4 west, exit Alhambra Ave. in Martinez. Right on Alhambra, then left on Escobar St. Continue 3 blocks to Talbart St., turn right. Talbert becomes scenic drive. Pass old cemetery on both sides of the road, then watch for Nejedly Staging Area on your left.
