The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II with a special ceremony
Remembering Our Heroes.
The event will honor the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unity that defined the World War II generation — both on the battlefield and at home. Contra Costa County is home to more than 38,000 veterans.
Among those recognized will be the Tuskegee Airmen, pioneering Black aviators who served with distinction abroad while facing discrimination at home; the Rosie the Riveters, whose determination kept America’s factories running; and the Code Talkers, Native American Marines whose languages safeguarded military communications and saved countless lives.
Residents are invited to attend in person or watch live online at www.contracostatv.org
