Speakers:  April Rovero &  Julie Fulmer-Mason, PharmD

 

April Rovero is the Executive Director of the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse (NCAPDA), a non-profit organization formed in 2010 and based in San Ramon, CA.   April leads NCAPDA’s efforts to prevent prescription drug related overdose addiction and overdose deaths  through community education, policy change and legislation advocacy at the local, state and federal levels.  She also leads the Contra County and San Ramon Valley MEDS Coalitions, is an active member of the California Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Workgroup and an Executive Committee Member of the national Fed Up Coalition.   April has been the recipient of multiple recognition awards over the past 5 years for her efforts in reducing prescription drug abuse nationwide.  


Julie Fulmer-Mason is a pharmacist and the President of MedFolio LLC.  A passion for finding solutions to improve medication adherence at home led Julie to invent the MedFolio Pillbox, which helps patients to organize medications, reminds them to take their medications on time, and tracks adherence in real-time 24/7.  In the San Francisco Bay Area, Julie started the MedFolio Cares Program which pairs innovative pillbox technology with an in-home pharmacist visit service to provide medication reconciliation, prescription ordering/delivery, and pillbox filling
